Travertine Limestone and Travetine Marble are the same stone. They are characterized by winding, irregular holes in the surface, with the flats finished to varying degrees of smoothness and reflectivity. “Shell stone” is another type of this same material with shells imbedded. Our travertine sinks are lightly sealed with several coats of standard stone sink sealer. Your contractor may need to seal your sink further to prevent leaking if you choose to stand water in your sink. Stone is a natural material, which time has made strong and man has made beautiful. Stone sinks are both beautiful and durable, and if given proper care, the stone will sustain its beauty and durability virtually forever.
